What is a Knife Control card?

Knife control card is a PLC card made effectively for the seamless working of a Japanese cutting machine.

What’s special on this?

It is made for a renowned customer from Sivakasi where he is hosting a Large paper industry and during his season time this machine malfunctioned and it leads him to reach us.

There won’t be any data on the malfunctioned card as it is short circuited, the chip details and all got erased. So the customer contacted the machine Manufacturer. But as it is from overseas, the support will be provided within 2 months or so. He is really in need of the solution for this problem ASAP.

What we did?

The R&D Engineers at Dharma Research Lab hacked the circuit by tracing the components and the usage of that particular card. He reverse engineered the entire PLC card and make a new one exclusively with additional functionalities as requested by the customer.

This card is the mother unit of the Cutting machine as the name denotes cutting the paper is its purpose. The operator sets the dimensions for the paper to be cutted and the machine responds itself by showing the dimensions on the display and perform its function of cutting.

We designed the card within a very limited span of time which is appx. 7 days of time. The entire process is taken place on the Dharma Research Lab.

DRL’s engineers can able to design and work on Double sided PCB also. What is Double side PCB?

Double side PCB is the type of Printed Circuit Board with conductive copper layer on both sides of the board.

It is extremely useful in many electronic applications because circuits on one side of the board can be connected on the other side of the board with the help of holes drilled on the board. Components on these boards can be connected using two different useful technologies i.e. Through Hole Technology and Surface Mount Technology. Based on your needs and requirements, both technologies come with their own benefits and limitations.

How it is made?

It is totally an Embedded system card which uses SPI to communicate the data between the micro controllers and uses a clock to regulate the data transfer. So we designed and developed a fully functional PLC card which is flexible and easy to use. Our circuits are made and tested by the Experts where they are having more than 30 years of Research, Production and Testing. Now it is affixed on the cutting machine and its working fine even without a single problem.
